India is home to one of the most vibrant startup ecosystems with close to 8000 tech startups, making it the 2nd largest startup ecosystem in the world. Hence, innovation and entrepreneurship is the emerging focus area that is being aggressively promoted to give fillip to the Indian economy. Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India is leading and facilitating a gamut of Innovation and IPR related activities across the country towards expansion of this ecosystem. In order to facilitate MeitY's vision of promoting technology innovation, start-ups and creation of Intellectual Properties, a nodal entity called ‘MeitY Start-up Hub' (MSH) has been setup under its aegis. MSH will act as a national coordination, facilitation and monitoring centre that will integrate all the incubation centres, start-ups and innovation related activities of MeitY.

ABOUT THIS APPLICATION

NXP Semiconductors in collaboration with FabCi brings "Semiconductor Startup Incubation and Acceleration Program" to identify, facilitate, mentor, establish semiconductor and IP design startups across India, and carry out incubation and acceleration program for these startups.

ELIGIBILTY

An entity shall be considered as a Startup:

i. Upto a period of ten years from the date of incorporation/ registration, if it is incorporated as a private limited company (as defined in the Companies Act, 2013) or registered as a partnership firm (registered under section 59 of the Partnership Act, 1932) or a limited liability partnership (under the Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008) in India.

ii. Turnover of the entity for any of the financial years since incorporation/ registration has not exceeded one hundred crore rupees.

iii. Entity is working towards innovation, development or improvement of products or processes or services, or if it is a scalable business model with a high potential of employment generation or wealth creation.

Provided that an entity formed by splitting up or reconstruction of an existing business shall not be considered a 'Startup'.
